What you know about the Clintons is probably limited to the pleasantries that the mainstream media have chosen to share with you. I've been a Republican my whole entire adult life and I was looking forward to learning a lot about Hillary Clinton going into a very questionable election. I really wanted to connect with the author, but I found myself trying to relate more to Hillary than Dolly. This book was poorly written and nothing more than a jealous mistress trying to get even. While it seems important to "Dolly" to be judgemental it does not seem inappropriate to her to title the book "Hillary the Other Woman A Political Memoir" when the book is about President and Mrs. Clinton. For me it was like sitting in a diner listening to someone gossip non-stop. Someone that was not knowledgeable but had an uncensored imagination. This book does not qualify as history by virtue of its inaccuracies and tone. Add to that that it is binary, black and white, I am right you are wrong. I am an avid reader and have been reading biographies, autobiographies and memoirs since I was 7. (As my account will attest too!) It's sad that our community and environment (trees) are wasted on timely facts,lies and gossip. Worse yet, the publisher allowed that it be called a memoir. Duh?
In this book Ms. Kyle reviews her decades-long relationship with Bill ("Billy") Clinton. If that subject interests you, by all means read it. But as Ms. Kyle freely admits that she never spent much time at all with Hillary, the book's title is quite misleading -- probably intentionally so in order to generate sales during the election campaign. Most of the narrative that pertains to Hillary is based on hearsay (including gossip from the perennial Arkansas troopers and comments we are led to believe came from Bill), and a big chunk consists of a recitation of pretty standard World Net Daily (the book's publisher) "shocking" accusations you can find on line for free if you really want to. Exceptions to this are Ms. Kyle's brief (and catty) recounting of her first impression of Hillary, and Ms. Kyle's attempted psychoanalysis of the woman she says she barely knows.
The writing style is plain and irritatingly repetitive. All in all, the book left me with a sleazy feeling about Arkansas and a poor impression of the author. I already had a sleazy impression of "Billy" and WND.
Horribly written. He author constantly repeats herself. There was only about 20 percent of the book that wasn't a constant rehash of the previous chapter. I finally just gave up.
Don't waste your money.
Ordered book 2 weeks ago , had to wait until July 1st to get it. Not worth the wait, did Trump or GOP pay her to write it? Really poor writing and she said he said, tried to finish it and gave up. A piece of trash that should be in check out line at Wal Marts with rest of gossip junk.
This book is just another attack against a woman who has dedicated her life to public service. What have you done with YOUR life, Dolly? Other than claiming to have screwed other women's husbands? And writing a book about it?
This is by far one of the most poorly written books I've ever read. The author repeated herself so much it was hard to follow the story. From what I could tell, and I might be wrong, she only met Hillary Clinton one time and gathered most of the information about her from tabloids and other public sources. She claims to know her as an enabler and horrific person, but only knew her as the wife of her long term lover.
Like most mistresses, Dolly Kyle thought her lover cared more for her than his wife. And of course, he told her that. In this book, Dolly shows no remorse for sleeping with a married man and potentially destroying his marriage and family. Poor innocent Dolly. She also makes numerous accusations including rape of the man she supposedly loved for decades. Supposedly, she wrote three novels about her relationship with Bill Clinton which says to me she's seriously obsessed with him. If Bill Clinton was as horrible a man as she claims he is, why would SHE have a decades long affair with him?
Describing Hillary as having foul body odor, dowdy clothes, fat ankles and hair on her toes, and reiterating how stinky she was for pages and pages shows how juvenile and sick this woman really is. No one could be as bad as the person she portrayed but hardly knows. Dolly even paints Hillary as a terrible mother who never really wanted a baby. Watch Chelsea's speech at the DNC on you tube and tell me there was not genuine love of her mother there. Hillary has a loyal group of childhood friends who adore her which also says a lot for what type of person she is.
Dolly needs a good editor as the book is poorly written jumping all over the place in time. There's a reason none of her novels made it out of the gate. For those looking for real dirt on the Clintons, Kyle offers nothing more than one can find if they research public domain material gathered by her conservative enemies.
Other than learning that Bill called Dolly Pretty Girl, I learned nothing new about Bill or Hillary. In the last chapter of the book, Dolly compiles a list of everything negative that has ever been written about the Clintons. She offers nothing new or interesting about either of them. To say that Hillary tried to destroy the many lovers Bill had over the years with no proof is pathetic. On the other hand, who could blame the wife of a philanderer for having disdain for his numerous mistresses. In my opinion, Dolly Kyle is nothing but a sad, jilted ex-lover of Bill Clinton, who has no better clue about Bill and Hillary's relationship than the rest of us. Get a life, Girl.
Of course, she's getting her five minutes of fame and a few bucks for her effort.
